The nearest local airport is Preveza Airport. It is about 30
minutes from Lefkada Town, 45 minutes from Nidri, and 75 minutes from Vassiliki
by car. In the middle of the summer there is an Olympic flight
from Athens arriving and departing most days of the week around lunchtime.
This reduces to 3 or 4 times per week out of season.
International charter flights arrive most days of the week from
many parts of Europe, from early May to late October. British charter
flights are mainly from Gatwick and Manchester on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays
and Wednesdays; with one Heathrow flight on Sunday.
If empty charter seats are available, it is possible to fly direct
from Preveza to the UK much cheaper and more comfortably than the alternative
scheduled route via Athens.
